Nests of Atta laevigata in pasture land in Goias, Brazil, were treated with Mirex-S (0.3% sulfluramid) at a dosage of 8 g/msuperscript 2 based in total and stratified areas of ant nests. The activity of the ant nests was evaluated 1, 3, 6, 7, 9, 16, 23, 30, 60, 90, 180 and 270 days after bait application by observation of ant movement (foraging activity); after 270 days the ant nests were excavated in order to evaluate mortality.
