The performance of 2 early-maturing pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum) populations (ICMV221 and EEBC) bred at ICRISAT, Patancheru (Andhra Pradesh) and a conventional full-season variety (Co 7) bred at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, at 3 levels of nitrogen fertilization (0, 35 and 70 kg N/ha), was studied at Aliyarnagar during the 1995 rainy season, soon after the harvest of rainfed groundnut (Arachis hypogaea).
