Rapid assay for the detection of esterases in the cat flea, Ctenocephalides felis (Siphonaptera: Pulicidae)

Rapid assay for the detection of esterases in the cat flea, Ctenocephalides felis (Siphonaptera: Pulicidae)

Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society 70(2): 129-132

The authors developed a filter paper-based test for detecting esterase levels in individual fleas (C. felis) that is useful for initially determining whether a population contains individuals with elevated esterase levels so that more sensitive electrophoresis assays can be performed to ascertain the level of insecticide resistance in the population.
