Recovery of blast-resistant rice plants following selection in vitro in culture filtrate from Pyricularia grisea (Cooke) Sacc

Eight resistant and four susceptible rice (Oryza sativa) families (R1 generation) with respect to race 137 of Pyricularia grisea were regenerated from calluses of a susceptible cultivar Aichiasahi on media containing culture filtrates from two races of the P. grisea fungus as selective agents. Rice calluses were derived from mature seeds grown on MS medium and plantlets were regenerated on an MS medium with a different hormone supplement.
