Poorly drained soils may be effective at renovating septic tank effluent if hydraulic failure can be prevented. The objective of this study was to evaluate the renovation of septic tank effluent using tile drains in conjunction with a low pressure distribution septic system in a poorly drained soil. Water samples from the does tank, tile drains within the filter field, and background tile drains were collected twice monthly from November through May for 3 years.
