Response and effect of N, P and K on rice grain yield and yield attributes under jute-rice-wheat sequence in a gangetic alluvial soil

In a field experiment over 5 years in West Bengal, rice Ratna was grown in a Gangetic alluvial soil having initial soil availabilites of 310 kg N, 26 kg P and 198 kg K/ha. Rice was given 80 kg N/ha alone or with 40 kg P2O5 and/or 40 kg K2O. The grain yield with N alone was 2.72 t/ha compared with 3.54 t with NP, 2.90 t with NK and 3.48 t with NPK. The control (no fertilizers) yield was 1.49 t.
