Response of 'Sampion' apple trees to nitrogen fertilisation in first three years after planting

Response of 'Sampion' apple trees to nitrogen fertilisation in first three years after planting

Ecological aspects of nutrition and alternatives for herbicides in horticulture International seminar, Warszawa, Poland, 10-15 June 1997: 79-80

A trial was established in 1993 to investigate the response of apple trees to fertilizer application in the first 3 years after planting. Trees of the cultivar Sampion, on the rootstocks M.9 and P.20, were treated with 5 fertilizer rates (50 or 100 kg N/ha applied in a single dose overall the area, or 50 + 50 kg N/ha applied in in early spring and 5 weeks later, either overall or along the herbicide strip).
