Response of days gap between flowering and corm lifting on corm development and corm rot in summer-season crop of gladiolus (Gladiolus grandiflorus)

Corms of gladiolus Pink Friendship were planted during June 1994 at Hessaraghatta Farm, Bangalore, India. Corms were lifted at 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120 or 130 days after flowering (DAF), cleaned and treated with carbendazim solution (0.2%) for 20 min. Corm development and corm rot (caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. gladioli) incidence were recorded 1 day after lifting the plants and again after 75 days of storage at 12 degrees C.
