Response of wheat (Triticum aestivum) varieties to nitrogen under late-sown condition

In a field experiment in 1991-92 at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, 4 wheat cultivars were sown during 5-6 January and given 0-150 kg N/ha. Grain yield significantly increased with up to 60 kg N, but net return was highest with 120 kg N producing grain yields of 2.12 and 2.10 t/ha in 1991 and 1992, respectively.
