Seed culture affects the completion time of L-lactate fermentation using electrodialysis culture

Seed culture affects the completion time of L-lactate fermentation using electrodialysis culture

World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology 15(1): 139-141

Electrodialysis culture (ED-C) and control culture of Lactococcus lactis IO-1 were inoculated with 3- and 12-h seed cultures. Regardless of seed culture age, control cultures needed 30 h for the completion of L-lactate fermentation. In contrast, the fermentation times for ED-C inoculated with 3- and 12-h seed cultures were reduced by 38 and 27% compared with control cultures.
