Serum bactericidal activity and disposition kinetics of enrofloxacin in Korean native goats

Serum bactericidal activity and disposition kinetics of enrofloxacin in Korean native goats

Korean Journal of Veterinary Research 37(2): 321-330

Korean native goats were given 5 mg/kg body weight of enrofloxacin either i.m. or i.v. Enrofloxacin showed potent antibacterial activity up to 12 h after administration. Concentrations of enrofloxacin in the biological samples were measured by HPLC. For detection of enrofloxacin,10% TCA was optimal for protein precipitation. The mobile phase used 0.01 M citric acid/methanol/acetonitrile (7/2/1, pH 3.5) with a C18 reverse phase column for the solid phase and a detection wavelength of 278 nm.
