Social assessment of beneficiaries to planned irrigation schemes in the framework of Slovenia irrigation project

The article presents the results of a social assessment study conducted on different beneficiary groups in the framework of the Slovenia Irrigation Project. Farmers, representatives of NGOs, and representatives of official institutions and agricultural support services were interviewed from 13 sub-regions of Slovenia during 1998. The results show that in all areas there is an interest for introduction of irrigation.
