Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 92(3): 251-253

Tick-borne relapsing fever (TBRF, caused by Borrelia duttonii and vectored by Ornithodoros moubata) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality of children in central Tanzania. This study (conducted in December 1994-March 1996) assessed the effect of house interior residual spraying with lambda-cyhalothrin (Icon 10WP) on domestic tick infestation and the incidence of TBRF in children under 5 years old.
