Japonica type rice varieties (47) and their resistant parents from the plain of the Taihu lakeside in Zhejiang province, China, were introduced along with 63 isolations from Zhejiang to 7 Japanese differential strains of Pyricularia grisea The results indicated that Bing93-390, Bing93-97, Bing91-17, Bing89-111 and others, had a broad spectrum of resistance with R+M%>95%.
