Studies on cultivation of Cymbidium species and cultivars in Beijing
C. sinense, C. goeringii (6 cultivars), C. faberi (1 cultivar), C. kanran (1 cultivar) and C. ensifolium (4 cultivars) were cultivated in 5 different substrates in 1991-95. Growth rate, chlorophyll content and substrate macronutrient content were recorded in each substrate. A substrate containing leaf mould of pine needles and vermiculite was the most effective substrate for Cymbidium cultivation.
