Studies on experiments of restraining egg granuloma formation in the liver of Schistosoma japonicum-infected rabbits

Studies on experiments of restraining egg granuloma formation in the liver of Schistosoma japonicum-infected rabbits

Chinese Journal of Zoonoses 15(3): 67-68

Vitamin E was successfully used to protect Schistosoma japonicum-infected rabbits against liver granuloma formation. On day 35 pi, rabbits were given vitamin E per os at the dose of 600 mg/kg/day for 21 days. The results showed that vitamin E was ineffective against adult worms but restricted the development of egg granuloma in the liver (P<0.05).
