Studies on five-year height growth in pine stands

This study is based on a large data set from 7 experimental pine clearcuts established in Poland in stands of II to V age classes, in which the relation of height growth to various stand and tree traits was investigated. The traits included stand age, height, dbh (diameter at breast height), dbh increment, stem slimness, relative crown length, percentage thickness of bark at dbh, and Kraft class. Five-year height growth was very variable (average variability coefficient 27%).
