Studies on the effect of the N, P and K fertilizers on the potato yield and nitrate accumulation in potato tuber
In field experiments conducted between 1996 and 1997 in 2 provinces in Iran, potatoes were given 0-800 kg urea, 0 or 200 kg potassium sulfate and 0 or 250 kg TSP/ha. Application of urea (600 or 800 kg N/ha) increased nitrate accumulation in potatoes Draga but not in Diamant. In both cultivars, application of urea and triple superphosphate without K increased tuber nitrate content.
