Study on the cocoon colour and cocoon shape characters inheritance in F1 crosses between uni-bivoltine and multivoltine races of the silkworm, Bombyx mori L

Study on the cocoon colour and cocoon shape characters inheritance in F1 crosses between uni-bivoltine and multivoltine races of the silkworm, Bombyx mori L

Bulgarian Journal of Agricultural Science 3(2): 181-185

The cocoon colour and cocoon shape inheritance in the F1 crosses between the multivoltine tropical race of silkworm (Bombyx mori) Bonde 517 and the uni-bivoltine Japanese and Chinese races Super 1 and Hessa 2 were investigated. It was established that a new dark green-yellow cocoon colour appeared in the F1 crosses between Japanese and Chinese uni-bivoltine races and a tropical multivoltine race, which was different from the cocoon colour of the parental breeds.
