Systematic approach to long-term salinisation risk

, : Systematic approach to long-term salinisation risk. Irrigation management and saline conditions Proceedings of Regional Symposium, JUST, Irbid, Jordan, June 1999: 54-59

A long-term systematic approach to salinity hazards was applied to the water/soil system in the Mejerda River system, Tunisia. At present high water demand has led to most of the river water resource (some 80%) being used for irrigation and water supply, with consequent risk of salinizing soils and groundwaters.
