Tebufenozide: effects of nonsteroidal ecdysteroid agonist on cuticle formation in Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella larvae

Tebufenozide: effects of nonsteroidal ecdysteroid agonist on cuticle formation in Indian meal moth Plodia interpunctella larvae

Parasitica 52(4): 143-151

A laboratory study was carried out to investigate the effects of tebufenozide on last-instar larvae of Plodia interpunctella, using electron microscopical observations. Tebufenozide has a moult accelerating mode of action, and resulted in a forced, untimely synthesis of the cuticle through the activation of epidermal cells, leading to a double cuticle.
