The effect of breed characteristics of meat-type pigs on carcass and meat quality in F2 crossbreds

Puawy x hybrid 990, Puawy x Duroc and Puawy x Pietrain sows (23-24 per group) were mated with hybrid 990, Duroc or Pietrain boars to obtain 3-breed crossbreds. The largest litters at weaning (9.76) were obtained when Puawy x Pietrain sows were mated with hybrid 990 boars, and the smallest (8.72) when Puawy x 990 sows were mated with Duroc boars.
