The effect of foliar spray fertilizer before leaf abscission on the nutrient condition of dormant apple trees

Spraying apple trees before leaf abscission with Ca2+, K+, SO42-, H2PO4-, NO3- and urea decreased the amino acid content in main roots and generally increased amino acid translocation from shoots to roots. KNO3 and B application increased and K2SO4, CaSO4, Ca(NO3)2 and KH2PO4 application decreased the soluble carbohydrate content in roots and shoots. Foliar application of the following fertilizers enhanced P content in roots and shoots: KH2PO4 > K2SO4 > urea > KNO3 or KH2PO4.
