Results are presented of a survey of four villages (two close to a major road and two in remote areas) located in the coconut growing areas of Tanzania into farmers' allocation of their productive time to farming and non farming activities. Background information was collected on demographic aspects of the sampled households. A sample of 15 farmers was selected randomly in each village. Results indicate that accessibility has a significant impact on the time allocation of farmers.
