The productivity and nutrient content of selected cultivars of forage grasses grown in pots under different soil moisture conditions

A pot trial included the following mixtures established in 1992: (a) a standard mixture of 7 grass species and Trifolium repens, (b) 2 plants of each of 3 cultivars of Dactylis glomerata, Festuca pratensis and Phleum pratense, and 6 plants of each of 3 cultivars of (c) D. glomerata, (d) F. pratensis and (e) P. pratense. The sandy loam soil was kept at 40 or 80% of capillary water capacity.
