The vitality of silver fir (Abies alba Mill.) stands in the Jata Reserve in Poland

The vitality of silver fir (Abies alba Mill.) stands in the Jata Reserve in Poland

Prace Instytutu Badawczego Lesnictwa ( 852/855): 51-73

The health condition of fir stands growing near the northern natural range of the species was investigated in a 1117-ha study area sampled using 317 circular plots. Fir stands were sampled using points in a 100x200 m grid, and non-fir stands were sampled using a 200x400 m grid, so that the whole area of the Jata Reserve was covered by the network of research plots.
