A new sesame variety "Namsankkae" was developed at the National Honam Agricultural Experiment Station through the artificial cross between Shibocla of white seedcoat color and PI 158038 in 1987. Compared to the check varieties, Namsamkkae was no branch type with tricapsule and bicarpellate-quadriloculi and tolerant to the fusarium wilt and lodging. Oil content was 1.9% and desirable fatty acid (Oleic, Linoleic) was 0.5 to 1.1% higher respectively than those of check varieties. The yield of Namsankkae was and 6% increased in second cropping after barley compared to that of check varieties(Chinjukkae in double cropping) This variety was appeared to be adapted in the southern part second cropping of korea.
