Using mulch mats for slope stabilization

Using mulch mats for slope stabilization

ASAE/CSAE SCGR Annual International Meeting, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 18-21 July, 1999: 5 pp.

The stabilization of slopes during forestry road construction and maintenance is essential for preserving site integrity and reducing environmental disturbance, and re-establishing a vegetative cover is a primary tool for achieving these goals. FERIC (Forest Engineering Research Institute of Canada) compared three seeding treatments (seeds protected by one of two types of mulch mat, and direct seeding alone) with an untreated control.
