Variability of serum antibody responses of goat kids to a commercial Clostridium perfringens epsilon toxoid vaccine

Variability of serum antibody responses of goat kids to a commercial Clostridium perfringens epsilon toxoid vaccine

Veterinary Record 143(17): 472-474

Angora goats (n=30) were used in a trial of a commercial enterotoxaemia (pulpy kidney disease) vaccine in Australia Eight goats were allocated to groups I and II, 9 to group III and 5 to group IV. One goat in group IV died of acute enterotoxaemia during the trial. On day 0, kids in groups I, II and III received 1 dose of vaccine, the kids in group II received a booster of the same vaccine on day 28, and those in group III received a booster on day 42. Group IV were unvaccinated controls.
