Variation in frost tolerance within two provenances of Acacia mearnsii De Wild

Variation in frost tolerance within two provenances of Acacia mearnsii De Wild

Australian Forestry 61(1): 1-6

Variation in frost tolerance of seedlings between and within families from each of 2 provenances of Acacia mearnsii from New South Wales was assessed under artificial conditions which simulated those experienced during winter in Australia and South Africa. The provenances were selected as altitudinal extremes for the species' natural distribution and each provenance was represented by 15 open-pollinated families.
