Variation in seed characteristics in provenances of sandal (Santalum album L.)



Indian Forester 125(3): 308-312



Sandal (Santalum album) seeds from various seed sources show significant variation morphologically and physiologically. This paper reports data on the seed parameters (seed length, seed width and seed weight) of 9 provenances from Karnataka and Kerala (India), which demonstrate a significant amount of variation among the different sources. The coefficients of variation (CV) were calculated for each seed parameter and source to aid comparison between them.
