Yellow pigment wheat - wheat for special purposes

In addition to breeding for improved yields, the production of wheats for special purposes is gaining importance. Of these, Triticum aestivum lines with yellow semolina/flour are proving attractive for the production of fine pastry and noodle products. Twelve yellow flour lines were subjected to quality analysis and data was recorded on milling and technological properties including the intensity of yellow colour, protein content and sedimentation values.
