Phytoplasma-induced yellows diseases were discovered on calendula (C. officinalis) and valerian (V. officinalis) in Alberta. Malformations of floral parts involving virescence and phyllody of calendula and symptoms of leaf reddening, chlorosis, plant stunting and proliferation of axillary shoots of valerian were found in experimental plantings at Brooks and Edmonton in 1996.
