Yield and quality of forage from mixtures of temperate annual grasses under continuous grazing

In a field trial in 1995 in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, a comparison was made of mixtures of Triticosecale + Lolium multiflorum (T1), Avena strigosa + L. multiflorum (T2), and Triticosecale + A. strigosa + L. multiflorum (T3). The swards were established from 21 May to 8 June and were grazed by cattle from 8 June to 14 November. Dry matter production was greater in T1 and T2 than T3.
