Yield of rice cultivated without use of fertilizer and pesticides

Korean Journal of Weed Science 19(1): 21-26

Studies were conducted over three years to investigate the yield reduction in rice fields in the absence of pesticide and fertilizer application. Rice yields in plots without fertilizer and pesticide applications were reduced by 65% in comparison with full-season control plots. Rice yields in plots without insecticide or herbicide applications were reduced by 3 or 59%, respectively; however, in the absence of fungicides, rice yield was not reduced at all.
