Yield variability of some crops as influenced by size of investigated area in the province of Olsztyn

Yield variability of some crops as influenced by size of investigated area in the province of Olsztyn

Pamietnik Puawski ( 110): 209-218

Raw data obtained in 1981-93 from 48 mostly large-scale farms in Olsztyn Province, Poland, were analysed to investigate the effect of farm size on yield variability of rye, winter wheat, oats, spring barley and potatoes. Farms were placed in categories giving average sizes of 25 680, 77 040, 120 000, 154 090, 308 100 and 1 232 700 ha. Residual yield variability (after the elimination of the multi-year trend) ranged from 2.39% for potatoes to 8.30% for oats.
