A review of methodologies to evaluate agroecosystem simulation models

Italian Journal of Agronomy 3(1): 19-39

Computer-aided mathematical models are useful tools to analyse agricultural systems with particular attention to environmental impact. Model evaluation is an unavoidable step for model acceptance. No single evaluation test is applicable across the different range of models and their uses. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and review evaluation principles and techniques. A two-stage evaluation was adopted.
