A study on the cytoplasmic effect of the immature embryo of maize in in vitro culture

The reciprocal cross F1 hybrids of 7 single crossed combinations of maize were used to study the rate of callus produced from immature embryos, callus type, induction rate of embryos, and the reaction to the culture medium containing NaCl. No cytoplasmic effect was found between reciprocal cross F1 hybrids of each cross.
