A study on the variation of cone coefficient of Chinese fir clones

Journal of Jiangsu Forestry Science and Technology 27(1): 13-17

The use of the cone coefficient (?number of seeds per cone) of Chinese fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) in the selection of superior clones was evaluated in China. The cone coefficient showed a high repeatability index (R, in successive selections). The value of R for single plants was 0.335-0.661 and for clones it was 0.602-0.825, indicating above average genetic control.
