Alder carrs - temporal and spatial dynamics: consequences for process conservation in a forest community

Alder carrs - temporal and spatial dynamics: consequences for process conservation in a forest community

Naturschutz und Landschaftsplanung 32(9): 261-270

Alder carrs belong to the severely threatened biotopes of Central Europe. Amongst a variety of natural processes, the groundwater dynamics (temporal dynamics) as well as the spatial and temporal heterogeneity in connection with other biotope types, play important roles. The preservation of 'target processes' helps to protect substantial aspects of the identity of these forests.
