This article discusses current knowledge on the pathophysiology and epidemiology of allergic fungal rhinosinusitis (AFRS). It is believed that AFRS share the same pathophysiological mechanisms with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, and the latter is now being used as a model for understanding AFRS.
