Biochemical and antibacterial studies of Ajowan (Carum copticum) oil

The purpose of the study is to rationalize the use of C. copticum as cure of infectious disease and prove its medicinal value on sound analytical basis. The moisture content in the seeds was 1.7%. The percentage of seed oil extracted with n-hexane was 31.80% while that with ethanol was 28.0%.
