The stem-galling weevil Conotrachelus albocinereus Fiedler was investigated as a potential biological control agent against parthenium weed (Parthenium hysterophorus) in Australia. Adults were tested in multiple-choice feeding and oviposition tests on 56 plant species in 51 genera. No feeding or oviposition was recorded on any nontarget plant except annual ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), a closely related weed.
