Climate and phenology of savanna vegetation in southern Africa

Journal of Vegetation Science 12(3): 347-354

This paper discusses the relationship of vegetation phenology and three climate variables (rainfall, minimum and maximum temperature) at 17 savanna sites in Botswana and Zambia. The dominant vegetation types at the study sites are Brachystegia-Julbernardia woodland in Zambia, and Colophospermum mopane (mopane) woodland and Acacia woodland in both countries.
