Combined effect of Gliocladium virens and Bacillus subtilis on sheath blight of rice

Combined effect of Gliocladium virens and Bacillus subtilis on sheath blight of rice

Journal of the Agricultural Science Society of North East India 12(2): 271-273

A combination of the antagonists Gliocladium virens and Bacillus subtilis proved to be highly effective against sheath blight of rice (Rhizoctonia solani). G. virens significantly reduced the disease when applied at the rates of 5.0 and 2.5 g/45 kg soil (45.78 and 23.35%, respectively). B. subtilis could reduce the disease at 108 cells/ml (51.7%) but at lower dosage, the disease reduction was only 0.57%.
