Comparative analysis of the binding of antibodies prepared against the insect Spodoptera exigua and against the mycopathogen Nomuraea rileyi

It was shown that polyclonal antibodies generated against Spodoptera exigua haemocytes and haemolymph and those produced against cell wall surfaces of Nomuraea rileyi not only react to their own antigens but also show activity against heterologous antigens. Binding was observed between haemolymph antibody and haemocytes and vice versa, and both antibodies cross-reacted to the insect fat body basement membrane and to cell wall surfaces of N. rileyi and Beauveria bassiana.
