Comparison of some meat production traits for laying type cockerels and broiler chickens reared to different ages

Comparison of some meat production traits for laying type cockerels and broiler chickens reared to different ages

Advances in Agricultural Sciences 6(2): 9-17

One-day-old Astra S laying type male chicks (n = 190) and ISA Vedetta broiler chicks (188 male and 188 female ) were fed ad libitum on standard concentrates: DKA-starter (to week 3), DKA grower (from week 4 to 6) and DKA-finisher (from week 7 to 12). From 3 weeks of age onwards, 10 laying type cockerels, 10 broiler cockerels and 10 broiler pullets were slaughtered at weekly intervals.
