Cropping and fruit quality of 'Jonagold' apple trees depending on rootstock

Apple rootstocks for intensive orchards Proceedings of the international seminar, Warsaw Ursynow, Poland, 18-21 August, 1999: 45-46

Cropping and fruit quality of 'Jonagold' apple trees depending on rootstock

In an effort to find an alternative to the rootstock M.9, which has poor winter hardiness under Polish conditions, a rootstock trial was established in 1991 in central Poland. Growth and productivity of the apple cultivar Jonagold on 8 different rootstocks was recorded. Trees were planted at the appropriate spacings for the rootstocks involved. After 7 years, the yield/tree was proportional to the tree size; it was lowest on P22 and highest on M.26 and P14.
