DNA, RNA and free nucleotides content in Norway spruce and Scots pine seeds of different resistance to the accelerated aging test

DNA, RNA and free nucleotides content in Norway spruce and Scots pine seeds of different resistance to the accelerated aging test

Prace Instytutu Badawczego Lesnictwa, Seria A 3: 5-15

Analyses were done of the nuclear DNA, general RNA and free nucleotides content of seed samples of 10 selected Norway spruce (Picea abies) stands in the Sudety Mountains and 7 selected Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) clones from the Taborz region of Poland. Seed selection was done on the basis of resistance to the accelerated aging test - 5 seed lots of spruce and 4 of pine were selected that were resistant to the aging test, and 5 of spruce and 3 of pine that were not resistant to the test.
