Effect of Brazilian ginseng Pfaffia glomerata (Spreng) Pedersen (Amaranthaceae) on the control of experimental diabetes in rats

Using alloxan-diabetic rats, this study investigated the effect of aqueous P. glomerata root extracts on the control of diabetes. The results did not demonstrate significant effects on the following parameters: body weight, water ingestion, diuresis, food intake glycosuria/24 h, urine urea/24 h, weight of retroperitoneal and epididymal fat.
